Men's Golf Announces Addition of Michael Unger to Squad

Nov. 30, 2001

Columbia, Mo. - Michael Unger of Edmond, Okla. has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Missouri, as announced by Men's golf coach Tim Robyn.

Unger, a senior standout at Edmond North High School, will bring an impressive resume and valuable national experience to the table for the Tigers.

As a sophomore, Unger captured the class 5A State Championship and has since notched key victories in three KGA Collegiate Preview Series events. His most impressive victory came this past summer at the American Junior Golf Association's Kansas City Marsh Junior Championship.

"Michael's credentials speak for themselves," said Robyn. "He has won several major tournaments which says plenty about his ability to get it done when it counts."

Unger is a member of the National Honor Society and boasts a 3.93 GPA, which complements his 73.3 high school stroke average. He has been a member of the All-Conference golf team every season at Edmond North H.S. and was voted Player of the Year in 1999-2000 by the Daily Oklahoman and the Edmond Sun.

"Michael is not only a talented golfer but an excellent student and a quality person," said Robyn. "We are exceptionally pleased to add him to our program."
