COLUMBIA, Mo. - Evan Unrau, a sophomore forward on the University of Missouri women's basketball team, scored a career-high 30 points Friday as the Tigers downed Southeastern Louisiana, 76-46, to advance to the championship game of the Unilever Lady Tiger Tournament. On Saturday at 8 p.m., Missouri will face Southeast Missouri State which defeated Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, 70-57, in the other semifinal game.
Unrau, who sank all five of her 3-point field goal attempts, scored 11 of the Tigers' first 19 points.
"The first one felt good, said Unrau, who hails from Fort Collins, Colo. "I didn't really think about it a lot, it just went in. I've never scored that much in my whole life, even in high school."
Unrau also snared a team-high 10 rebounds to record her second-straight double-double of the season and sixth of her career.
After taking a 7-6 lead, Missouri then went on a 12-2 run. Unrau scored eight of those points to push the Mizzou lead to 19-8. The Tigers actually took a 34-13 lead with three minutes and 42 seconds left in the first half but saw the Lady Lions close the half by scoring nine unanswered points.
The Tigers opened the second half with a 22-6 run and never looked back. Southeastern Louisiana only made four field goals in the second half's first 10 minutes.
Missouri improved to 4-1 with the victory. Southeastern Louisiana (1-3) plays Texas A&M-Corpus Christi Saturday at 6 p.m.
