COLUMBIA, Mo. - COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Evan Unrau had a game-high 21 points to lead the University of Missouri women's basketball team to an 87-41 exhibition win over the Lincoln Blue Tigers Friday night at the Hearnes Center.
Unrau, a sophomore from Fort Collins, Colo., made nine of 11 shots to score her 21 points.
"I got a lot of points off the fast break," said Unrau. "I think the guards did a great job of getting down the court and we ran a lot. I got a lot of offensive rebounds, Melanie (Fisher) and I both did."
Kerensa Barr (Jr., West Plains, Mo.) and Natalie Bright (Sr., West Des Moines, Iowa) added 14 points as the Tigers rolled to the victory. At one point, the trio combined for 52 of the Tigers' 61 points.
"We tried to put different people in and get different combos of people," said Barr. "There are a few of us who tend to play well together. I just think we need to continue to work to get everyone into the flow of the offense."
Missouri used runs of eight-, nine- and 10 points to roll to a 43-19 lead at the half. The Tigers pushed the lead to over 40 points, 74-33, with over six minutes remaining.
"We have a solid four. And that is what we just discussed in the locker room," said MU head coach Cindy Stein. "Natalie (Bright), Kerensa (Barr), Evan (Unrau) and Melanie (Fisher) are playing extremely solid. That other spot, you just can't find anyone else who grabs it. Tracy Lozier did some really good things but none of them really show up in the numbers. Terianne did some good things, too. We did things that we really haven't gone over in practice, but (the team) just dealt with them. It's great to have that kind of experience on the floor.
"I can see our starting lineup possibly changing," continued Stein. "I think we've got some talented kids on this team who can possibly step into roles. More importantly, we've got to have consistency. That doesn't mean there are consistent starters. It's just a matter of who's getting the job done at that time."
Missouri will face the Houston Jaguars on Friday, Nov. 9, in another exhibition contest.
