On the current state of the team~ Right now our focus is on Baylor, and winning the football game. That's where we're at. We're going to work real hard to game plan and go out and play better. We need to go out and play better and improve. Honestly, we're struggling here, and we need to improve. We need to throw the ball better. We have got to stop the run better. There are a lot of things we need to do better. As you can see, there are many, many things we need to improve on.
On how the team is handling consecutive loses~ Our older players have a little baggage. They've been through some though times. What happens is they go through these tough times and they hang on to these tough times. We all do that to some extent. That's my job and my staff's job to keep our vision forward. One thing is we have been remarkably consistent. Nothing has changed since we've had some adversity. My job is to keep their focus, attention and enthusiasm.
On what the team will be focusing on this week~ Fundamentally, you focus in on everything all the time. I think our tackling has struggled. We've had some problems stopping the run. So, we're working on that. Offensively, we're going to work on throwing the football a little more efficiently and running the ball better. We'll work on third downs on both sides. One thing on a discipline standpoint is you cannot have errors. You don't have a chance to beat a chance to beat a Colorado without doing the things necessary to win. We'll figure it out. That's my job to do that, and I haven't done my job to this point. But you don't go out there and have all the penalties and mental errors and have problems with the kicking game and say gosh, why didn't you win the football game. We're not good enough to go out there and win a game against a team like Colorado with all those things. After Tuesday and Wednesday's practices, we're going to have extra walk throughs. We've never done that before, but guess what? We're making too many mental errors. We have plans to work on that and get that corrected.
On the discipline of the team~ As far as a discipline concern, the discipline of the program has not completely come in yet. That's part of building a program. That's part of building a team. When you get a 15-yard penalty assessed on a kickoff and you have to kickoff at the 20-yard line and you give them the ball at the 50-yard line, that's not real good.
