COLUMBIA, Mo. - Bushwood (MU Black) used a five-run fifth inning to pick up a 6-4 victory Wednesday over the Gypsies (MU Gold) in the fifth and final game of the 2001 Fall World Series for the University of Missouri baseball team.

Cody Ehlers (So., Stillwater, Okla.), Tony Vitello (Sr., Florissant, Mo.) and Josiah Holst (Fr., Independence, Mo.) each had two hits to the Bushwood.

The Gypsies' Jody Roughton (Jr., Carthage, Mo.) had three hits, including a solo home run in the first inning, to go with two runs batted in. Bo Davis (Fr., Tulsa, Okla.) had two hits for the Gypsies.

Travis Wendte (Fr., Moore, Okla.) had his second straight strong outing on the pitching mound, scattering three hits and striking out three batters in four innings. Derek Roper (So., Elk City, Okla.) struck out six batters in four innings to record the win for Bushwood.

After losing the first game, Bushwood won the remaining four games to win the series, 4-1.

For the fall, Mick Weiss (Sr., St. Peters, Mo.) hit .417 to lead the Gypsies.
