The University of Missouri women's tennis team will open the 2001 fall schedule this weekend in Springfield, Mo. joining Southwest Missouri State University and Illinois State in a two-day round robin tournament.

The event was scheduled after the Saint Louis Invitational was cancelled last weekend. Missouri, SMSU and Illinois State were among the team scheduled to play in the Saint Louis Invitational.

Missouri is coming off a 13-win season in 2000-01 and returns four letterwinners from last year's squad. Coach Blake Starkey enters his fifth year with a team of young, but very talented, players.
