Women's Indoor National Champion Distance Medley Relay Team Holds The Best Time In The World

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri women's distance medley relay (DMR) team holds the best indoor DMR time in the world as reported by Track and Field News. The DMR team made up of seniors Ashley Wysong and Sunny Gilbert, junior Ann Marie Brooks and sophomore Kerry Hils won the national championship Mar. 9, in Fayetteville, Ark., with a time of 11:06.77, which is also a school record. The Tigers hold the top spot by almost five seconds over the second place team the University of North Carolina (11:11.11).

The Tigers are also making headlines in outdoor track as the women's track and field team is ranked 22nd in the nation in this week's Trackwire.com national poll. MU received 13 votes and is in a three-way tie with Oregon and Kansas State.

The Tigers host the Fifth Annual Tom Botts Invitational this weekend at Walton Stadium. The two-day meet begins Friday at 4:00 p.m. The action gets under way Saturday at 9:00 a.m.
