Austin, Texas - The University of Missouri women's golf team finished in eigth place of 12 teams in the Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic at the Great Hills Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Missouri shot a team round of 309 after shooting a 308 on Monday and a 317 on Tuesday for a three-day total of 934.
Sophomore Elin Ohlsson and senior Amelia Moses were the top Mizzou finishers shooting 228 for the tournament and tying for 14th place. Ohlsson was consistent throughout the tournament with rounds of 76, 75, and 77. Moses, however, took another route to her 14th place finish. She opened with a 74 on Monday, struggled to an 81 on Tuesday, and shot the third-best round of the day on Wednesday with a 73. Ohlsson and Moses finished 10 strokes back of Tennessee's Young A-Yang, who shot a +2, 218 for the tournament leading the Vols to the team championship by five strokes over TCU.
Senior Jamie Tucker finished 36th, Tiger junior Nisha Sadekar finished the tournament in 48th place while freshman Tara Jacobsen ended the day in 56th place. This is second of three trips to Texas this month for Mizzou. The Tiger return to the Lone Star State one more time this season on March 26th for the Pecan Valley Invitational.
