Tigers Win First Two Matches of Season

Jan. 27, 2001

Pittsburgh, Pa. -- The University of Missouri had a successful opening for the 2001 season Saturday. The Tigers downed Pittsburgh 7-0 before recording a 6-1 triumph over West Virginia. MU lost only two matches in the two duals.

"We were solid up and down the lineup," said MU head coach Blake Starkey. "I was very pleased with Kristina (Olshanskaya) who battled hard and won. We won the big points. I wanted to see this team get off to a good start and we did."
