COLUMBIA, Mo. - University of Missouri junior distance runner Ann Marie Brooks was named Big 12 Conference female Runner of the Week, the league announced Monday. It is the first honor of the indoor season for the Tigers.

Brooks, a native of St. Joseph, Mo., ran 4:50.10 in the mile at the Tiger Invitational Jan. 19. She has the best time in the conference in the mile and won the Tiger Invite by a full seven seconds over Fride Vullum (unattached).

The Tiger women, currently ranked 23rd in the nation, host the MU Triangular meet Fri., Jan. 26, at 5:45 p.m. in the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.
