Missouri falls to No. 3 ranked Nebraska

Columbia, Mo.--The University of Missouri women's soccer team takes it's first conference loss of the season to No. 3 ranked Nebraska. The Tigers fell 2-0 in the contest taking their season record to 6-5 and a 2-1 Big 12 mark. The Huskers out shot the Tigers 17-10 taking 11 shots on goal.

Nebraska made their presence known in the first ten minutes of the game scoring their first goal. Christine Latham received a ball from Kelly Rheem for the game winner. Missouri played a competitive game going head-to-head with the Huskers in the first half with seven shots. They lost speed however after Nebraska's second goal in the 40th minute. Paige Phillips sent a long cross into the center where Kelly Haxton capitalized for another point.

The loss brings freshman goalkeeper Megan Duncan to a 2-3 record. She made nine saves in the game and allowed two goals. She leads the Tigers with 501:21 minutes in the box. She has allowed 10 goals and made 30 saves overall and posts a 1.80 goals against average. She also owns two conference shutouts.

The Tigers return to conference action on Sun., Oct. 1 when they host Iowa State at 1:00 p.m. in Walton Stadium.
