Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri Gymnastics squad will host the Black and Gold intersquad meet on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. on the Hearnes Center main floor. The Tiger squad will be divided into two teams and compete on each of the apparatus as a tune up for the 2001 season.
As a result of last season's return to the NCAA Regional Competition for the first time since 1994, head gymnastics coach Rob Drass and the Tigers are anxious for the 2001 season to fire up.
"We are very excited to get a chance to compete and get the girls out in front of a judge again," Drass said. "This event will also give us a good starting point for our season and give us an idea in what areas we need to improve."
The Tiger's regular season will begin on January 7 when they travel to Ball State. Their first home meet of 2001 is set for January 21 against Southeast Missouri State. For ticket information, call 1-800-CAT-PAWS. For more information on the Tiger Gymnastics program, log onto www.mutigers.com.
