Tiger Night of Terror Set for Halloween Night at Hearnes

Oct. 30, 2000

Columbia, Mo. - One of Central Missouri's favorite rites of the fall will continue on Halloween night, as the University of Missouri will host the Tiger Night of Terror on Tuesday, Oct. 31st at the Hearnes Center.

From 5-7 p.m., the annual trick-or-treating extravaganza will take place in the Hearnes Fieldhouse. This event will feature over 50 booths of treats for Columbia children, and gives them a safe environment in which to trick-or-treat. Several MU student-athletes and personnel will be on hand for the event. Activities will also be available for children.

Action on the court begins at 6:30 p.m., as the women's team is scheduled to scrimmage until 7:00 p.m. They'll play two 12-minute periods in preparation for their exhibition season opener this Thursday, Nov. 2nd against the Basketball Travelers.

The annual costume contest will take place on the Hearnes floor from 7-7:45 p.m. Judges will choose the best and most creative outfits in four categories - 0-4 years old, 5-7 years old, 8-12 years old, and over 12 years old.

Finally, the evening will draw to a close with a scrimmage featuring the men's basketball team. They'll begin at 7:45 p.m., and will hold two 12-minute halves.

There is no admission fee to the event. A crowd of 6,500 is anticipated.
