Columbia, Mo.--The University of Missouri women's soccer team rounds out the regular season with a 10-9 record and a 5-5 Big 12 Conference mark after downing Kansas 4-1 today. The Tigers bested the Jayhawks 19-14 in shots and 8-7 in shots on goal.
Freshman Adriene Davis leaves the year as the Tiger's leading scorer with 10 goals. The forward scored two in the match to hand Mizzou the victory. She posted MU on the board at the 13:26 mark when she collected a cross from senior Nikki Thole for a two-yard rocket into the net.
Senior Jennifer McMaster came back just seventeen seconds later to score Mizzou's game winning goal unassisted. She collected a pass on the far left side and dribbled the ball from midfield for a five-yard shot.
Midfielder Amy Timmermann scored her third goal of the season on a cross by McMaster to give the Tigers a 3-0 lead in the 20th minute. KU came back to score their only goal in the game at 20:56 on a lucky lob from midfield that skimmed the pole and dropped in behind goalkeeper Stephanie Krawczyk.
Davis rounded out the Tiger scoring spree early in the second half when she once again connected with Thole for the score.
Krawczyk played the entire 90 minutes in game, logging six saves and allowing one goal.
The match bid farewell to the 2000 graduating seniors: All-American Nikki Thole, Jennifer McMaster, Amy Timmermann, Kristin Boeker and Becky Paulsen.
