Women's Soccer Travels To Waco For Big 12 Showdown

Up this Week
The University of Missouri travels to Waco, Texas to take-on conference rival Baylor on Fri., Oct. 20 at 7:00 p.m. The Tigers return to host Loyola-Chicago on Sun., Oct. 22 at 1:00 p.m. at the Audrey J. Walton Soccer Complex.

Travel Itinerary
The Tigers depart Kansas City, Mo., Thurs., Oct. 19 on American Airlines flight number 434. The team transfers to flights #3779 and #3893 in Dallas, Texas and arrive in Waco around 7:45 p.m.

On their return trip, Mizzou departs Waco on flights #3906 and #3774 6:00 a.m., and arrive in Dallas around 8:00 a.m. The team returns departs Dallas at 9:16 a.m., on American Airlines #1243 and arrives in Kansas City, Mo. At 10:51 a.m.

While in Waco, hotel accommodations will be provided by the Hilton at 113 South University Parks Drive (254) 754-8484.

Recent Results
Missouri is 8-8 with a 4-4 Big 12 Conference record after falling to Texas and Texas A&M. The Longhorns defeated the Tigers in a 4-1 contest Oct. 13. They out shot Mizzou 19-12 and delivered 10 shots on goal. The Tigers took six net shots in the game.

Senior Nikki Thole scored her seventh goal of the season unassisted. Forward Jennifer McMaster throttled a shot at the Longhorn goalkeeper that was blocked. Thole came through again and slammed the goal before the keeper could recollect the ball.

In College Station, Texas, the Aggies out shot the Tigers 27-10 and recorded 14 shots on goal. Sarah Sallee scored her first goal of the season when she collected an assist by Mandy Waters and took an angled shot 15-yards out on the right side.

Senior Kristin Boeker exited the game in the first half with a laceration that sidelined her for the rest of the game. She and an Aggie midfielder both went up to claim a header and collided. Boeker suffered a cut above her eye that required stitches.

Freshman goalkeeper Stephanie Krawczyk picks up both losses taking her season record to 2-2.

Scouting the Tigers
Missouri has a .450 shot on goal percentage taking 238 shots and forcing 107 opponent saves. The Tigers have scored 24 goals this season and average 1.5 goals per game.

In the Big 12 Conference, the Tigers rank fifth across the board with 14.88 shots, 4.25 points, 1.5 goals and 1.25 assists per game. The Mizzou goaltending staff rank fourth in the conference with 6.19 saves per match and are fifth with four shutouts.

Thole Thunder
Senior Nikki Thole continues to boost her career goals and points records. She scored her seventh goal of the season unassisted against Texas to increase her career goals to 58 and her overall point total to 142.

The forward leads the team in goals, assists (6) and points (20). In league standings, Thole ranks second with 4.6 shots per game. She is seventh in the Big 12 in goals and a .47 goals per game average. She is eighth in assists averaging .40 per game comes in ninth in points and points per game with 1.33.

This season Thole has been selected as one of 15 finalists for both the Hermann Trophy and the Missouri Athletic Club Collegiate Player of the Year Award. Both honors recognize the top collegiate soccer player in the nation.

Dynamite Duncan
Freshman goalkeeper Megan Duncan continues to run with the conference elite despite being sidelined for the season due to fractured ribs. Duncan ranks sixth with a 1.46 goals against average and is seventh in the league with 4.30 saves per game and three shutouts.

Duncan still leads the team with 740:25 minutes and 43 saves. She rounded out her season with a 3-4 record.

Missouri Tidbits
* Freshman Adriene Davis is second on the team with six goals and four assists for 16 points. She leads the team and is tied for fourth in the Big 12 with three game-winning goals. She also leads the team with a .556 shots on goal percentage taking 20 of her 36 shots on net.

* Midfielder Steph Brennan ranks third for the Tigers with two goals and two assists for six points.

* Defender Mandy Waters added her second assist of the season when she helped Sara Sallee score against Texas Tech.

* Senior Jennifer McMaster is fourth on the team with five points. The forward owns two goals and one assist.

* The Missouri Tigers continue their trend of playing strong through the second half of play. 17 of their 24 season goals have been scored in the second period.

Scouting Baylor
Baylor is 8-5-2 with a 5-2-1 Big 12 Conference record. The Bears rank fourth in league standings. Against conference opponents, Baylor has claimed wins over Iowa State (3-0), Oklahoma State (3-1), Colorado (3-1) and Texas Tech (3-2). The Bears owe two league losses to Nebraska (3-0) and Texas (2-1). The also have one 0-0 tie against Oklahoma.

Forward Molly Cameron leads the Bears with 19 points. She owns nine goals and one assist and posts a .586 shots on goal percentage. Coming in second, Emily Fukuchi has five goals, one assist and 11 points. In the goal, Dawn Greenhouse has played 1395:45 minutes for the Bears and leads the team with a 1.35 goals against average. She has allowed only 21 goals with making 105 saves and logging 3.5 shutouts.

Scouting Loyola-Chicago
The Ramblers are 6-7 with a 0-2 Midwestern Collegiate Conference record. Team scoring leader Erika Butler leads the Ramblers. She tops the charts with three goals, one assist and seven points. Goalkeeper Erica Pedini leads the team with 709:10 minutes played, a 1.65 goals against average, 13 goals against and 46 saves.
