Columbia, Mo.-The University of Missouri is 6-6 with a 2-2 Big 12 Conference record after falling to Iowa State 1-0 today. The Tigers and the Cyclones battled through a physical match resulting in 24 combined fouls and two yellow cards. Iowa State only out shot Missouri 14-12, but the Cyclones took eight balls to the net while the Tigers only counted three shots on goal.
Iowa State scored the game winner during the 69th minute when Jill Borcherding put one in. The Tigers were unable to rally back and fell to the Cyclones unanswered.
Freshman Megan Duncan takes the loss bringing her season record to 2-3. She played the entire 90 minutes of the game and made seven saves.
The Tigers return to conference action next week when they host Colorado Fri., Oct. 6 at 4:00 p.m.
