Great Alaska Shootout Pairings Announced

Anchorage, Ak. - Pairings for the 2000 Carrs/Safeway Great Alaska Shootout, scheduled for Nov. 22-25 in Anchorage's Sullivan Arena, have been finalized. The matchups for the prestigious college basketball event were announced today by University of Alaska Anchorage athletic director Harry Larrabee.

Quin Snyder and his Missouri Tigers will square off against Rhode Island in the first game of the tournament, set for 4:30 p.m. (Alaska time) on Nov. 22nd.

For the 16th consecutive year, men's Shootout games will be televised nationally by ESPN. The cable network has selected four games this season -- three on national broadcast and one for regional distribution. The Florida State-Ohio State first-round matchup will be shown on ESPN Regional, while the DePaul-Syracuse game, plus one semifinal and the championship game will go to the entire nation.
