Tempe, Ariz. - The University of Missouri women's golf team shot a team round of 298 today in the second round of play at the NCAA West Regional, being held at Karsten Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz. Missouri stands in 16th place overall after two rounds of play at the regional, which concludes tomorrow. Missouri improved by 16 strokes as a team on Friday, after posting a team score of 314 in the first round of play.
Eleven teams and three individuals will advance to the NCAA Championships from each of the two regionals being held at ASU and Ohio State University, while the region with the most teams ranked in the top 24 will also advance an additional two teams to the national tournament. The NCAA Championships will be held May 24-27 at Crosswater Golf Course in Sunriver, Ore.
Individually, Missouri junior Amelia Moses shot a one-over par 73 on Friday to move up to a tie for 22nd place. She improved by three strokes from an opening-round 76.
Senior Tobi Probst shot the best round of the day for MU, as she carded an even-par 72. Probst stands tied for 46 place heading into tomorrow's final round.
Other Tiger competitors include junior Jamie Tucker, who is tied in 61st place with a two-round total of 154, sophomore Nisha Sadekar, who is tied for 91st with a 157 total, and freshman Elin Ohlsson, who is tied for 114th, at 161.
