Missouri head women's basketball coach CINDY STEIN has added the 2000 National Junior College "Coach-of-the-Year" to her staff. LEE ANN RILEY, who led Tyler Junior College to the NJCAA national title this past season, has been named the associate head coach at Missouri.
Riley has spent the last six seasons at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, accumulating a record of 141-58. In the last two seasons, Riley led Tyler to a combined 50-7 record in the last seasons and was ranked No. 7 in 1998-99. Tyler was a Region XIV finalist in four of Riley's six seasons, and won the region this past season.
Riley was named the National Junior College "Coach-of-the-Year" by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association and the National Junior College Athletic Association. She was also recognized as the Region XIV Coach-of-the-Year.
"Lee Ann Riley is an excellent addition to our program," said Stein. "She's an outstanding coach, great motivator and extremely personable. We are looking forward to her arrival in Columbia.
Before Tyler, Riley served as an assistant coach at Stephen F. Austin University for two seasons and spent one year at New Mexico State.
