University of Missouri head softball coach Jay Miller recently announced that Daisy Mettlach has signed a national letter of intent.

Mettlach is a senior at Tivy High school in Kerrville, Texas. She was an All-District selection at catcher in 1997, 1998 and 1999. She also plays summer ball for the Texas Vipers

In addition to her softball accomplishments, Mettlach was a 1999 first team All-District selection in volleyball and has qualified for track regionals in the 400m relay three years in a row.

"(Daisy) is fast and has a good arm," Miller said. "She should be able to contribute for us right away with the loss of Amy Farmer."

"I am excited to get to play at Missouri for coaches like Coach Miller and Coach (Mindy) Johnson," Mettlach said. "I know they will make me a better player."
