Austin, Texas - The University of Missouri women's golf team finished in 7th place overall at the 13-team Betsy Rawls Longhorn Classic, which wrapped up today at the Great Hills Golf Club in Austin, Texas. Missouri began the day in 9th place, but climbed two spots in the standings with a final-round team score of 314 - the third-best total posted by any team today.
With a three-round team score of 953, MU finished 30 strokes behind champion San Jose State, which claimed the tournament title with a team score of 923. The Tigers finished ahead of Big 12 competitors Baylor (8th - 955), Colorado (11th - 979) and Kansas State (12th - 980).
Individually, senior Tobi Probst led the way for MU, as she tied for 20th with a three-round total of 236. It marked the third top-20 finish in four spring outings for the Columbus, Ind. native, and her 236 total represented a personal spring best.
Just one stroke back of Probst were juniors Amelia Moses and Jamie Tucker, who both tied for 24th place individually with identical three-round totals of 237. Moses shot a final-round 76 on Sunday, which was the best round in the tournament by any Tiger. Tucker finished with a final-round 77, and her 24th-place finish is a spring best.
Rounding out the Tiger competitors were sophomore Nisha Sadekar and freshman Elin Ohlsson, who finished tied for 42nd and tied for 51st, respectively. The duo shot identical 82s in Sunday's final round. Sadekar finished with a three-round total of 245, while Ohlsson shot a 248 for the tournament.
Up next for Head Coach Tom Loyd's Tigers is the Utah-Dixie Classic, to be held April 3-4 in Provo, Utah. That will mark MU's final regular-season tournament prior to the 2000 Big 12 Championships, which will take place April 21-23 in Lubbock, Texas.
