COLUMBIA, Mo.-Missouri senior women's basketball player Amy Monsees was named to the first team GTE/CoSIDA Academic All-America Team in District VII on Thursday morning. It is the second straight season that the Tigers' captain has won the award.
On the court, Monsees is averaging 10.6 ppg. and 5.4 rebounds. She leads Missouri in minutes played per game (28.0). Monsees helped key an upset victory over Kansas just last night with 15 points and a game-high nine rebounds. She also picked up a key steal with 10 seconds to go in the contest.
Monsees is a communications major and carries a 3.87 cumulative GPA. She was named to the University of Missouri's Mystical Seven last year and is a three-time Academic All-Big 12 selection.
