The Big 12 Conference announced its December Swimmers-of-the-Month today, January 5. Selections were made by a vote of the league's head swimming and diving coaches. Missouri freshman Leslie Hoh was selected as the female swimmer-of-the-month while Texas senior Bryan Jones earned the honor for the men.
Hoh has been making a splash already in her your Tiger career. She has finished no lower than third in any event in which she has competed thus far in the season. At the Indian Invitational last December, the Charlotte, North Carolina native claimed the 200 and 400 individual medley titles while also swimming the breaststroke leg of MU's winning 400 medley relay. Hoh's time in the 400 IM was a NCAA provisional qualifying standard as well as a new school record. Her time in the 200 IM currently ranks her second all-time in MU history.
Hoh also placed second in the 200 breaststroke and third in the 100 breaststroke at the Indiana Invite. Her times in both the breaststroke events currently rank her in the top three on MU all-time top five. During her short collegiate career, Hoh has claimed a total of eight individual victories.
Jones, placed in seven events for the Longhorns at the Texas Invite, winning the 100 butterfly. MU junior Aaron Lo won the honor for the men in November.
