COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri Tigers (21-13, 5-9) ran their winning-streak to seven games on Saturday afternoon with a 9-1 victory over the Kansas Jayhawks (10-26, 4-16) in a game that last just one hour and 59 minutes. Chris George (2-1) pitched his first complete game of his career for the Tigers, the second complete game in two days for Mizzou.
The Tigers jumped out to a 1-0 lead against Kansas starter Brian Schriner (2-3) when J.R. Warner connected for his third home run of the season. The Tigers tagged on three more runs in the third inning. After Wilson (3-for-4, 3 RBI) doubled in Warner following a walk, Jake Epstein (2-for-4, 3 RBI) clubbed his seventh home run of the season to give Missouri a 4-0 lead.
Wilson and Epstein kept things rolling in the fourth inning for the Tigers. Wilson singled in two more runs and Epstein singled in another to run the Tigers lead to 7-1. Mizzou would add two more runs in the eighth inning on RBI singles by Mike Rallo and Luke Cassis.
In his first career complete game, Chris George allowed one unearned run on seven hits while striking out five and walking just one.
