Kvalvik Leads Azusa Pacific Multi-Event Competition After Day One

Columbia ,Mo. - Missouri's Rannveig Kvalvik leads the Azusa Pacific Multi-Event after one day of competition. The senior from Norway totaled 3,210 points overall on Thurdsday, and leads a quartet of Tigers in the top ten of the standings.
Jill Aholt currently stands in 7th place with 2,980, Eli Sommerfeldt moved into 8th place with 2,929, and sophomore Michelle Moran enters Friday's events with 2,902 points and 9th place. Also competeing for MU is Jill Osenbaugh in 20th place with 2,721 points.
The event continues Friday in Azusa, California as the athletes will compete in the long jump, javelin throw and 800m run. Kvalvik holds a a 28 point lead over Angela Kraft of Purdue University. Missouri's athletes should finish strong in the remaining events as the meet concludes late Friday afternoon.
