The Missouri Tigers (9-19, 3-14) showed signs of improvement in their 3-0 loss (8-15, 1-15, 13-15) to the 21st ranked Colorado Buffaloes (17-9, 11-6). Missouri came out ahead in the second and third games, leading the Buffs by as many as five. The Tigers just couldn't pull the victory out in the end.
What the score does show is that there is a definite sign of improvement since the Tigers trip to Boulder in October. There Missouri lost 5-15, 8-15, 8-15.
"We're light years ahead of where we were at the beginning of the season," head coach Disa Johnson said. "We are playing like a seasoned team now."
Junior Annette Luyten and sophomore Naaron Branson both pulled out double-doubles for Missouri. Luyten had 14 kills and 12 digs while Branson recorded 15 kills and 13 digs. Sophomore Krista Johnson also put on quite a show, hitting .333 with nine kills and five block assists.
