Columbia, Mo. - Mike Radek of Chicago, Ill. has signed a national letter of intent to attend the University of Missouri, as announced today by Men?s Golf Coach Tim Robyn.
Radek, a standout golfer at Chicago?s St. Ignatius College Prep, is a four-time Illinois State High School finalist (including a fifth-place finish in 1999), and is an honorable mention all-American in the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA). He registered a first-place finish at the Pepsi Little People?s tournament this past year, and was a unanimous selection for the 1999 Tony Lawless Award, a prestigious award given by the Chicago Catholic League to the outstanding golf sportsman in the city.
?I?m very pleased the Mike Radek will be a part of our golf team,? said Robyn. ?He?s a wonderful all-around person and an outstanding golfer. He?s been honored nationally and locally, which is reflective of his abilities. He?s at times an outstanding ball striker and I really believe he?ll blossom into a fine college player in the near future. I think Mike will help the team off the course as well as on the course. He?s got a great work ethic and will be supportive of everyone on the team,? he said.
The early signing period concludes tomorrow (Nov. 17), with the spring period running from April 5 through May 15, 2000.
