Missouri faced the newly formed United States Professional Volleyball League at Kirkwood High School in Kirkwood, Mo. The site is the alma mater of Missouri setter/defensive specialist Rachael Taylor.
The Tigers fell to the USPV in three games (8-15, 10-15, 6-15). Missouri's freshmen stepped up in the offensive game. Kansas City native Christi Myers hit a .350 clip through all three matches. Junior Heather Gerber also stepped up offensively, hitting two-of-five, a .400 percentage.
Missouri will prepare to host the Tiger Invitational Sept. 10-11 at the Hearnes Center in Columbia, Mo.
