October 13, 1998

The University of Missouri women's golf team finished in 9th place at the Shout-Out at the Legends tournament, which finished up today at The Legends in Franklin, Ind. The tournament featured 15 teams from the Big 12 and Big Ten conference.

Missouri shot team rounds of 308-309-314 to finish with a team total of 931. That put the Tigers three shots behind Northwestern (8th -- 928) and eight back of Nebraska (7th -- 923). Mizzou finished ahead of fellow Big 12 schools Kansas (10th -- 936), Oklahoma (12th -- 942) and Kansas State (15th -- 971).

Individually, the Tigers were led by senior Stefanie Mitchell (73-74-77=224), who tied for 11th individually with an eight-over par total of 224 for three rounds. Mitchell was just five strokes out of her third top five performance of the young season.

Next up for the Tigers was freshman Amelia Moses (75-80-76=231), who tied for 24th place individually. A second-round 80 (8-over par) hurt the Coronationville, South Africa native's chances at a top 20 finish. She finished just one stroke out of the top 20.

Rounding out the Missouri representation was senior Letitia Moses (77-78-79=234), who finished tied for 38th, junior Tobi Probst (83-77-83=243), who tied for 63rd place, and Nisha Sadekar (83-84-82=249), who tied for 70th place overall.

Missouri has nearly three weeks off before it wraps up the fall season at the Diet Coke-Roadrunner Invitational, to be held Oct. 30th through November 1st in Las Cruces, N.M.
