White Sets School Record at All-Comers

Columbia, Mo. - Senior Heather White was one of many Tigers to set personal bests at the All-Comers meet Saturday in the Hearnes Fieldhouse, her's just happen to also be a school record. The senior from Belton, Missouri broke her own 20 lbs. weight throw record winning the event with a 57-6 1/2 ft. toss. The record breaking mark bettered her previous school best by close to three feet.

Eleven other Tigers were first place finishers in their specialty, including Carla Grewe who won the shot put with a personal best put of 40-11 and also set a personal best mark in the 20 lbs. weight throw of 40 -7 3/4. Daarina Al-Uqudah was the women's 55m hurdles winner in 8.43, a personal best, and walk-on Jason Franken ran a personal best 1:55.40, 800m for a victory. Rannveig Kvalvik tied her personal top height in the high jump when she cleared 5-8, winning the women's high jump.

Missouri's other event winners were Ryan Fitzgerald (5000m), Steve Wade (mile run), Thomas Woods (200m), William Hopson (long jump), Ada Ibe (200m), and Kent Shelton (14-0). MU personal bests were also set by Micah Shanks (shot put), Jon Von Englen (pole vualt), Jill Osenbaugh (55m hurdles, long jump), Heather Whitehead (shot put, 20 lbs. weight throw), and Brooke Ennen (20 lbs. weight throw).

Next up for the Tigers are the Big 12 Indoor Championships held next weekend, February 19-20 in Manhattan, Kansas, hosted by Kansas State at Ahearn Fieldhouse.
