Columbia, Mo. - The Azusa Pacific Multi-Event was ruled by the Missouri Tigers Friday as sophomore Espen Strindeberg won the men's decathlon and senior Rannveig Kvalvik won the women's heptathlon both athletes also provisionally qualified for the NCAA Championships with their performances.
Strindeberg scored 7,114 points in the ten-event competition for the victory including a 15-5 personal best tying mark in the pole vault for 819 points. Kvalivk led a group of five Missouri women who finished in the event's top 15 with a personal best total of 5,378. Missouri's Eli Sommerfeldt finished third at 5,083, a provisional qualifying total, Jill Aholt ended seventh with 4,871, Michelle Moran eighth with 4,867 and Jill Osenbaugh 15th with 4,685.
The rest of the Tiger team continues competition today at both the Mt. SAC Relays in California and the Mule Relays held at Central Missouri State University.
