After losing to the Jayhawks last Tuesday, the Tigers were not about to get beat at home. Unfortunately, for the SMSU Bears they had to be their first victims. In an eerie deja vu way, the Tigers repeated much of what they did against Loyola. They broke records. They got physical. Oh yeah, they scored seven goals- in each game. Sophomore forward Nikki Thole scored her second hat trick of the season. She is the only Tiger in MU history to score one hat trick, let alone one in two consecutive home games. She is now the team leader in points at 13 for the season, and 31 in her career. Also adding to the offense was sophomore Kristin Boeker, and junior Erin Grimsley. Each had a pair of goals.
Missouri will take on yet another Mid-Missouri rival on Tuesday, September 15th. Saint Louis University will travel to Columbia to try and keep their 2-0 record in the series. This game will be a true test for the Tigers, and it's a key to their season.
