Thole was the first big star of the Missouri soccer program that began in 1996, and fittingly was the first soccer player inducted into MU’s Intercollegiate Athletics Hall of Fame. A native of St. Louis, she came to Mizzou in 1997 and became the first Tiger to earn all-America recognition. She was a second-team honoree by multiple outlets as a junior in 1999 when she scored a school-record 23 goals and helped lead MU to a 14-8-1 record and its first NCAA Tournament berth. She was a three-time first-team all-Big 12 honoree (1998-2000) and was a second-team all-Big 12 selection as a freshman. Thole was named to the Big 12 all-tournament team three times (1998-2000) while leading the Tigers to three consecutive appearances in the championship game. She still holds virtually every MU single-season and career scoring record including career points (151) and goals (61).
