The Stephens Indoor Facility — an 86,400 square foot practice space for University of Missouri football — opened in the summer 2023.
The newest Mizzou Athletics facility, located adjacent to the South End Zone building and Memorial Stadium, is named for MU alumni and donors Brad and Rachel Stephens.
Brad Stephens earned his bachelor's degree in finance and marketing in 1997 while Rachel is a 1998 graduate of the School of Journalism and a past member of the University of Missouri Alumni Association's Board of Directors.
The Stephens Indoor Facility includes a full-length football field with a state-of-the-art 3D3-60 AstroTurf Field System. The field has run-off distances beyond the end zones and along the sidelines for student-athlete safety. The facility features a Daktronics videoboard, an upper mezzanine level with a viewing lobby and gameday facilities including expanded restrooms and recruiting areas.
St. Louis-based architect HOK and its Kansas City, Mo.-based sports division, HOK-Sport, led the planning and design of the Stephens Indoor Facility. River City Construction served as the general contractor. The project received unanimous approval from the Board of Curators in May 2021.
