2023-24 (Senior)

  • SEC Spring Honor Roll
  • Totaled a 10-8 record in the No. 1 singles slot and finished 11-11 in doubles matches, playing in the one slot with sister Inah Canete for all but one match
  • Began the season ranked No. 32 with sister Inah Canete with the Canete duo peaking at No. 16 in the nation
  • Ranked as high as No. 117 in the singles rankings for a portion of the 2024 campaign
  • The Canete pairing was invited to and competed in the ITA Fall Championship, where they advanced to the round of 16 before falling to the No. 1 doubles team in the country, Elizabeth Scotty and Reese Brantmeier of North Carolina
  • Competed in the ITA Central Regional Championship, where the Canete duo secured a spot in the semifinals 
  • Secured an invitation to the ITA All-American Tournament in Cary, N.C., collecting a singles win over Purdue in the opening round but fell in the Round of 64 
  • Earned singles victories over SEC opponents from Alabama and Mississippi State 
  • Collected a doubles win over Mississippi State in the final regular season match, besting the Bulldogs duo, 6-1

2022-23 (Junior)

  • Won the most singles matches on the team, garnering a 14-9 record (12-9 while at the one spot).
  • Led the team in SEC wins in singles and doubles with four apiece.
  • Went 11-6 in doubles matches with sister Inah, as well as 3-1 pairing up with Emelie Schwarte.
  • Earned two of Mizzou's three ranked singles wins, defeating No. 19 Kylie Collins of LSU (6-1, 6-2) and No. 77 Kelly Keller of Arkansas (7-5, 6-0).
  • Finished the regular season ranked No. 94 in the nation.

BEFORE MIZZOU

Mae Canete finished off the 2022 season with her second-straight All-America honors, after also earning them in 2021. She ended the season ranked No. 3 in the ITA Singles after posting a 22-2 record. Her only losses came to the No. 1 rated DII and Juco player. Canete helped Central Oklahoma to a National Runner-Up finish in 2022, the best in school history. She also finished as the D2 ITA National Singles Runner-Up.

In 2021, Canete earned her first All-America honors in singles and doubles before being named the ITA DII Rookie of the Year. After going undefeated in singles as a freshman with a 22-0 record, she ended the year ranked No. 5 nationally in singles and No. 15 in doubles.
