Andy Stoots was named to the Mizzou soccer staff as the associate head coach in May 2021.
During the 2024 season, Stoots assisted Milena Fischer to an All-SEC Third Team appearance after the senior tallied six goals and an assist.
In 2023, Stoots helped Kylee Simmons achieve First Team All-SEC honors after the forward led the SEC in points (24), points per game (1.41), goals (11) and goals per game (.65). Simmons scored 11 goals on 29 shots on goal, finishing 18th in the country in shot accuracy (.630).
In addition, Simmons, Jenna Bartels, Milena Fischer and Leah Selm were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team for their combined performance on the field and in the classroom.
During the 2022 campaign, Stoots coached to Tigers to all-conference selections as defender Grace Pettit was named to the All-SEC Second Team while Bella Hollenbach landed on the All-SEC Freshman Team.
In his first season with the program, Stoots helped lead the Tigers to an upset of No. 13 Ole Miss while Fischer claimed All-SEC Freshman Team recognition.
Stoots came to Mizzou by way of the University of Louisville. He spent five years with the Cardinals' program, making two NCAA Tournament appearances. Working primarily with the goalkeepers and attacking players, Stoots helped Louisville's offensive production increase while improving its final RPI and win total in each of his last three seasons with the team.
The Cardinals reached the NCAA Tournament in 2018 and 2019. Each season, they topped their previous program-best finish in ACC regular-season play, finishing sixth in 2018 and fourth the following year. Louisville reached the NCAA Tournament Second Round in 2019.
Before his stint at Louisville, Stoots spent time on Golan's Minnesota staff. As an assistant coach for the Golden Gophers, he was a part of the 2016 team that captured the Big Ten's regular season and tournament titles. Minnesota led the Big Ten in goals and assists while allowing only three goals during conference play en route to the First Round of the NCAA Tournament.
Prior to his tenure in the Twin Cities, Stoots made stops at a handful of institutions in the southeast that neighbor Mizzou's SEC rivals--Samford, Belmont, East Tennessee State and Troy.
A four-year letterwinner in net at Milligan University, Stoots was named team captain in his final two seasons. While at Milligan, he set a school record with 15 wins in 2001 and holds career records in shutouts, goals-against average and wins.
A native of Bristol, Tenn., Stoots received his bachelor's degree from Milligan in human performance and exercise science in 2002. He holds a USSF National D License and NSCAA Premier Diploma.
Stoots and his wife Tiffany have three children, Ethan, Audrey and Sawyer.
