Dustyn Baethke joined the University of Missouri Football program as Director of Athletic Performance – Football in January of 2016. Baethke is responsible for designing the speed, agility, and conditioning programs as well as assisting with all other areas of athletic performance for football. Included in his responsibilities is the implementation of Functional Range Conditioning (FRC) protocols. Baethke is also heavily involved with the programming for all incoming freshmen players.
Baethke served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Washington Football team from January 2014 until December 2015. While at Washington, Baethke assisted with all return to play athletes and was heavily involved with FMS Corrective Exercise progressions. Baethke was also responsible for developing a year round speed and agility program for all football athletes.
For most of the 2013 football season, Baethke served as the Assistant Athletic Director for Athletic Performance at Eastern Washington University. While at EWU, Baethke oversaw the design and implementation of programs for all varsity sports. Baethke was specifically in charge of the design and implementation of all aspects of training for football, women’s soccer, and the men’s and women’s throwers with the track team.
Before his move to the state of Washington, Baethke resided in Iowa, where he served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach for the University of Iowa Football program. Baethke held this post from August 2010 until the Fall of 2013. While on staff at Iowa, Baethke designed programs for all injured athletes while also assisting with all other areas of training. Before joining the staff full time, Baethke served as an intern with Iowa Football program in the summer of 2009.
From August 2009 until August 2010, Baethke was a Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at Boise State University. While at Boise State, Baethke was responsible for all aspects of strength and conditioning for the women’s swimming and diving and the wrestling team, while also assisting with the football program.
From 2008-2009, Baethke served as an intern strength and conditioning coach at Central College, where he worked primarily with the football program.
Baethke attended Central College in Pella, Iowa, where he was a four-year letterman with the football team. He also served as a team captain for the 2006 and 2007 football seasons. While at Central, Baethke earned his Bachelor’s degree double majoring in Mathematics and Exercise Science. He went on to receive his Master of Arts degree in Education from Boise State in 2012.
Baethke is a member of the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSSCa) and is Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the organization as well. His other certifications include USAW Level 1 Sports Performance Coach, Functional Movement Screen (FMS) Level 1, and Certified FRC Mobility Specialist (FRCms) through Functional Anatomy Seminars. Baethke is also First Aid, CPR, AED certified through the American Red Cross.
