1978-79: Earned starting berth midway through her freshman year and has played in 98 games, more than any other Tiger on the roster...best scoring season was sophomore year, tallying 347 total points for a 10.8 average...saw action in all 30 games in '78-'79, averaging 6.7 ppg and 2.8 rpg...had 71 assists, second best on the squad last year:..scored season high 20 points against Nebraska-Omaha in a 90-71 Tiger win.
A proficient ballhandler who rarely yields to pressure defense, Kiser is also capable of strong shooting...evidenced by her 5-for-4 performance last year against Iowa State...tenacious defensive specialist who regularly draws opponent's best shooter to guard...lost starting position midway through last season but came back to reclaim starting role in last ten games.
Sparkplug of the team on defense...Rutherford expects leadership on the court from this Branson, Mo. senior...Kiser is fully recovered from knee surgery over the summer...has greatly improved her shooting touch since, last season. Also an outstanding track performer, she held UMC records in shot put, discus and javelin until last year...won Big Eight javelin title in 1977.
