Chrissy was born in Kansas City, Mo., and is the daughter of Mike and Karen Svetlic. She was 7-years-old when she first picked up a racket.
She was coached by Mike Wolf in juniors, where she was a regular on the Missouri Valley circuit, playing all the Supers and Sweet 16's throughout her junior career. She placed fifth in the Kansas State High School tournament her sophomore year of high school, which was the only year she played high school tennis. She competed in USTA national tournaments as well as playing in ITA tournaments while in high school. She also played competitive USAV volleyball, anchoring a team that qualified five times for nationals with a highest place finish of seventh in the nation.
Upon graduation, Chrissy chose tennis over volleyball, and accepted a tennis scholarship to Northern Illinois University, where she played the top position as a freshman. While at NIU, she was named Mid-American Conference Player of the Week twice, as well as being named MVP after her freshman campaign at NIU. She transferred to Mizzou following her freshman campaign at NIU.
She transferred to Mizzou to "be on a bigger stage", and has made quite an impact during her time. She and partner Raquel Wagner have a top-10 doubles win on their resume, and Chrissy has been a solid contributor in the top three singles positions.
Chrissy enjoys hanging out with friends, playing just about any sport, and she considers herself easy-going and up for just about anything. She does not like human feet or rude people. While there are many interesting things about her, Chrissy considers the fact that she is ambidextrous (being able to write or play tennis with either hand) to be an interesting thing about her.
