Corey Smith joined the University of Missouri Football team as a Senior Director of Athletic Performance in the spring of 2016.
From 2013-2015, Smith served in the same position for the University of Memphis football program. During his tenure at Memphis, the program enjoyed a period of unprecedented success. The team posted a 10-3 record, which tied the school record for victories in a season.
Prior to joining the Memphis program, Smith served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at Illinois State University from 2012-13, where he worked primarily with football. Smith began his career as a volunteer student assistant with the Redbird strength and conditioning program in 2011.
Smith earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from Illinois State in 2012, while also completing a strength and conditioning internship with the University of Iowa football program that same year. Smith earned his Master of Science in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of Memphis in 2015.
Smith is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association, as well as a Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) through the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association (CSCCa).
Smith and his family reside in Columbia.
