2008:
Outdoor: Placed third for the Tigers in the steeplechase in the MU-Virginia Jefferson Cup dual (4/5) ... season ended early due to injury. Indoor: Earned first career individual All-Big 12 honor in placing seventh at the league meet at a mile ... ran career best 4:07.44 mile in the Meyo Mile at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational (2/9) ... ran season best 8:16.31 at 3000 meters in placing fifth at the Iowa State Classic ... winner of the 3000 meters at the Missouri Invitational.
2007:
Cross Country: Was consistently one of the Tigers' top performers ... ran his best race at the Bradley Classic where he finished third overall at 24:42, a personal record ... had a strong showing at the NCAA Midwest Regional setting a personal record in the 10K race at 31:51 ... finished 64th overall at the Roy Griak classic and third at the Missouri Cross Country Challenge ... placed 59th at the Big 12 Championships. Outdoor: NCAA Regional qualifier for first time in career after shaving five seconds off previous personal best at 1500 meters to clock 3:47.30 at the Arizona State Invitational ... placed 10th at 1500 meters at the Big 12 Championships, 16th at 5000 meters ... on runner-up 4x1600-meter relay team at Drake Relays. Indoor: Placed 12th at the Big 12 Indoor Championships at 3000 meters, improving from a 33rd-place finish the previous year in running a career-best 8:18.43 ... earned second-consecutive All-Big 12 honor in the distance medley relay with fifth-place finishing team ... took second at Purdue's Gene Edmonds Cup at 3000 meters.
2006:
Cross Country: Cornell had a solid sophomore year, finishing among Mizzou's top five in four of the five races ... Earned a personal-best time for an 8K at the Pre- NCAA's, finishing 134th overall in 25:08.1 ... Finished fourth among Mizzou runners and 76th overall at the Roy Griak Invitational in September (26:04.15, 8K) ... Ran the 10K Big 12 course in 26:10.10, earning a 51st place finish. Outdoor: Placed 14th at the Big 12 Championships at 1500 meters ... ran a 4:09.77 mile at the UCLA Invitational ... clocked a 3:52.61 at 1500 meters at the Cardinal Invitational ... was part of a three-freshman 4x1600-meter relay that placed fifth at the Drake Relays.
Indoor: Earned All-Big 12 honors with the seventh-place distance medley relay team at the Big 12 Indoor Championships ... ran a season-best 4:09.68 clocking in the mile run at the Iowa State Classic, finishing in the top 20 ... winner of the MU-KU-KSU Triangular 1000-meter race (2:30.50) ... placed 33rd at the Big 12 Indoor at 3000 meters (8:33.30).
2005:
Cross Country: Placed 54th and was team's sixth scorer at the Big 12 Championships with season-best 25:41 clocking ... placed 62nd and was team's fifth scorer at NCAA Regionals with 32:56 10k time.
High School:
Won the Missouri cross country state championship in 2003 and 2004 ... named to the Footlocker Third Team All-Midwest team in 2003 ... competing on the Kewpie track team, Cornell was the 1,600-meter state champion in back-to-back years (2004-05) ... received cross country All-District and All-Sectional honors between his sophomore and junior campaigns (2002-04) ... a native of Columbia, Cornell attended Hickman High School and was coached in cross country coach by Steve Kissane and in track by Steve Lsetjen ... academically, Cornell was a Birch Stemmons award winner, Joe Marks trophy winner, college preparatory studies certificate honoree and presidents education awards program recipient.
