2017 OUTLOOK
Blind side protector for Tiger quarterbacks at the left tackle position, is the returning starter there from a year ago when Mizzou’s offensive line was among the nation’s most improved ... Is expected to hold that spot down for another year.
2016 SEASON
Was an instant-impact junior college addition, as he started all 12 games at left tackle for Mizzou … Part of an offensive line that was the nation’s most improved group despite boasting just three career starts as a unit heading into the season … The group finished first nationally in tackles for loss allowed (2.92), the lowest in the nation for any team since at least 2005, a remarkable note considering Mizzou ranked 15th nationally in plays … Offensive line group also led the SEC in sacks allowed (16th nationally) and paved the way for a Mizzou offense that led the SEC and ranked 15th nationally (500.5 yards per game and 205.1 on the ground).
BEFORE MIZZOU
A massive, physical prospect who imposes his will all over the field, in both the run and pass games … Has two years to complete two years of eligibility at Mizzou … Currently enrolled at Mizzou for the spring semester and will take part in spring practice … Named a First Team Junior College All-American in 2014 at Butler Community College … Rated as the 37th-best junior college prospect by ESPN and the fifth-best junior college offensive lineman in the 2015 class … Rivals and 247 Sports rated him as a three-star prospect and Rivals ranked him as the No. 43 junior college prospect in the nation and the eighth-best offensive lineman in the 2015 junior college class … Butler went 8-3 in 2014 and averaged 474.7 yards of total offense per game while scoring 45.3 points per game with Howell on the line … The offensive line allowed just 18 sacks over 11 games and gained more than 5,000 yards of total offense with Howell as a member of the group … Junior college coach: Troy Morrell … Three-year letterwinner at Bonner Springs High School and head coach Steve Cline where he was a team captain in 2013 … All-League performer for Bonner Springs in 2013 … Mother: Carmen Jackmon … Cited Mizzou’s family atmosphere and players taking care of each other as key contributions for his signing … Primary recruiter: Andy Hill … Chose Mizzou over offers from Arizona State, Georgia, Kansas, Kentucky and Penn State among others.
