Tough offensive lineman with great mobility, Owen caught the attention of the Tiger coaches with his tremendous athleticism, confidence and competitive spirit … No. 17 recruit in the state of Missouri by ESPN … Played at the same high school as former Tiger long-snapper and current Tennessee Titan Beau Brinkley, while Kearney also produced LB Brock Christopher and WR Tommy Saunders as Tiger standouts … First Team All-State selection in Class 5A at left tackle … Led Kearney to the State Class 5A semifinals as a junior, helping the team to an 11-2 overall record … Also played basketball at Kearney, averaging 9.8 point and 6.9 rebounds per game.

Cited Mizzou’s great tradition and it being the top university in the state as key reasons he chose Mizzou … Has wanted to be a Tiger since his childhood, and he was an early enrollee who participated with the team in winter workouts.
