Played in the season-opener vs. UT Martin (9/1) but did not record a catch.
2017 SEASON
Huge receiving target was slowed by injuries throughout the year and unable to contribute in game settings ... Has the potential to be a big-time playmaker, especially as a red-zone target, thanks to his 6-foot-7 frame and long arms ... Made strides during spring camp before suffering an injury in the fall.
2016 SEASON
Saw his first action as a Tiger, playing in three early-season games ... Caught one pass for seven yards in Mizzou’s SEC opener against Georgia (9/17).

HIGH SCHOOL
A tall receiver with an explosive skill set, whose athleticism and play-making ability caught the attention of the Mizzou coaching staff … He is a redzone threat that can go up and get the ball at a very high point … First Team All-State selection by both the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and by the Georgia Sports Writers’ Association … Served as team captain during his senior season … Was a homerun threat for West Laurens High School last season, averaging 16 yards per catch … Hauled in 65 passes for 1,038 yards and a team-high 13 touchdowns, leading his team to its first regional championship in two decades … Caught 33 passes as a junior, for 570 yards and five touchdowns … Was an elite three-sport standout at West Laurens, also excelling in basketball in which he averaged 10.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, while also competing in track and field … High School Coach – Stacy Nobles.

Father – Willie Smith … Chose Mizzou over offers from NC State among others … Also had an offer to play basketball at Georgia … Factors that drew him to Mizzou include the campus, the curriculum and the people … Pursuing his degree in the General Studies program, and has designs of being a coach at some point in the future … Lists hobbies outside of football as music, drawing, shopping and hanging out with friends.
