Became one of the nation’s premier interior defenders during a breakout redshirt junior season during which he was a full-time starter for the first time in his career … Earned First Team All-America honors from Pro Football Focus and was a Second Team All-American by the Associated Press … Landed on the All-SEC First Team (Associated Press) and the All-SEC Second Team (coaches) … Since the beginning of the 2018 season, he graded out at a 92.8 over the final 25 games of his college career according to Pro Football Focus, the highest of any interior defender in the 2020 draft class … Finished his final season in Black & Gold with 44 tackles, fourth-most on the team and tops among interior defenders and defensive linemen … Posted a team-high 8.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks while he opened things up for his trenchmate Kobie Whiteside, who finished with a team-high 7.0 sacks … His 44 tackles on the season were the most for a Mizzou defensive lineman since DE Charles Harris, a first-round selection of the Miami Dolphins, had 61 in 2016 … The 44 tackles were the most in a single season for a Mizzou interior lineman since Harold Brantley had 54 in 14 games during the 2014 season … Tallied a season-high six tackle (five solo) at Kentucky (Oct. 26), part of a five-game stretch during which he tallied at least four tackles in every game … Posted a season-high 2.0 tackles for loss against both Ole Miss (Oct. 12) and West Virginia (Sept. 7) and had at least a half tackle for loss in eight of 12 games … First sack of the season came against South Carolina (Sept. 21) and he added another against Florida (Nov. 16) … Also had a half sack against Tennessee (Nov. 23) … Added three pass breakups, six QB hurries and a blocked kick to his stat sheet during the year … Of his 44 tackles of the season, 36 came in games played against Power 5 opponents and 7.5 of his 8.5 tackles for loss came against Power 5 opponents as well … Selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft (88th overall) by the Cleveland Browns.
2018 SEASON
Impact player in the trenches who developed throughout the course of his first season in the Mizzou program, and was named 2nd-Team All-SEC by one media outlet after a season that included 24 tackles, eight tackles for loss (third on the team) and three quarterback sacks … Pro Football Focus graded him out highest among all Mizzou defenders for the season, at 88.8% … Won SEC Defensive Player of the Week honors for his massive game in the regular-season finale against Arkansas … In that game, helped the Tigers pitch their first shutout in conference play since 2010 by making five tackles, four of which went for loss, including three sacks … His second-quarter blind-side sack jarred the ball loose and ended in a fumble recovery for a touchdown by teammate Akial Byers to make the score 21-0 … Also had a five-tackle game at South Carolina (10/6), including 1.5 tackles for loss … Added a tackle for loss at No. 1 Alabama (10/13) ... Majoring in Interdisciplinary Studies at Mizzou.
2017 SEASON
Transferred to Mizzou prior the season and made huge impressions as to his play-making ability all year long in practice while sitting out the year, as required by NCAA tranfer rules ... Turned heads enough to the point where he was awarded the team’s defensive scout team player of the year award at the season-ending banquet ... Also worked his tail off in the strength and conditioning program, and he was awarded at the season-ending banquet as the team’s lifter of the year.
2016 SEASON (at Texas)
Played in six games ... made eight tackles (four solo) ... had 1.5 tackles for loss ... made his first career appearance in a season-opening win over No. 10 Notre Dame ...
