2019Ā SEASON
Was having an All-America caliber season as the leader of Mizzou’s nationally ranked defense before a torn pectoral tendon suffered in Mizzou’s game against Troy (Oct. 5) cut his senior season short, playing in only five games … Despite only playing in five of Mizzou’s 12 games, he still finished the season ranked fifth on the team with 43 tackles (8.6 per game) with three defensive touchdowns, three interceptions, 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, two QB hurries and two pass breakups, stuffing the stat sheet … Was the SEC’s leading tackler at the time of his injury …  Named the SEC’s Defensive Player of the Week twice in the first five weeks of the season, first following Mizzou’s SEC-opening win over South Carolina (Sept. 21) when he scored a defensive touchdown on a fumble recovery in the endzone, a heads-up play diving on a ball that was originally ruled an incomplete pass before replay deemed it a fumble … He added a team-high nine tackles in that game … He again earned the SEC’s weekly distinction following Mizzou’s win over Troy (Oct. 5), the same game he suffered his season-ending injury … In that game, he posted six tackles, including 3.0 tackles for loss and a sack with a pair of interceptions, including a 33-yard pick-six … It was his third consecutive game with a defensive touchdown, dating back to his pick-six against SEMO, then the fumble recovery score against South Carolina …  His first interception against Troy was also almost a pick-six as he returned it 27 yards inside the one … Keep in mind he did all of that against Troy with a torn pectoral tendon, suffered in the first quarter … He became the first player to score three defensive touchdowns in a season for Mizzou since Erik McMillan had three interceptions returned for touchdowns in 1987 and he is the first Tiger player to ever do so in three consecutive games … Opened his season with a career-high 16 tackles (12 solo) at Wyoming (Aug. 31) … Posted sacks against West Virginia (Sept. 7) and Troy (Oct. 5) … Had 2.0 and 3.0 tackles for loss in those games, respectively, the latter of which was a career-high … Team captain and four-year contributor who started 33 games in his career while playing in 43 over his four seasons … Signed with the Tennessee Titans following the 2020 NFL Draft.

2018 SEASON
A true field general at the middle linebacker position who emerged as one of the top linebackers in the defensive-minded SEC ... Won first-team All-SEC acclaim by Pro Football Focus, while taking home second-team All-SEC honors from the league coaches, thanks to his outstanding season that saw him lead Mizzou and rank seventh in the league with a career-best 112 tackles ... Added 6.5 tackles for loss on the season and had a quarterback sack, to go with six quarterback pressures and one pass break-up ... Had an impressive stretch where he recorded double-digit tackles in four straight games, doing so with 12 stops at No. 1 Alabama (10/13), 11 against Memphis (10/20), followed by a season-best 14 stops against No. 16 Kentucky (10/27) and 12 more in Mizzou'sĀ big 38-17 road win at No. 11 Florida (11/3) ... Was the first Tiger to have four straight games of at least 10 tackles since Kentrell Brothers did so in 2015 when he led the nation in tackles ... Was all over the field at South Carolina (10/6), when he posted eight tackles to go with four quarterback pressures in Mizzou's narrow defeat ... Had six tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss in the Tigers' big road win at Tennessee (11/17) ... Had a pair of tackles for loss in an early-season road win at Purdue (9/15) and led the team with eight stops in the Liberty Bowl against Oklahoma State (12/31).

2017 SEASON
Took over the middle of the field in his first year as a full-time starter for the Tiger linebacking corps, as he led the team with 105 total stops (ranking seventh in the SEC) ... His 65 solo stops ranked as fourth-best in the conference as well ... Known best as a punishing run stopper, but he also proved adept at dropping in pass coverage, as he recorded two interceptions, including one each in consecutive games at Kentucky and at Georgia ... His pick at UGA came in the first quarter, and he returned it 21 yards down to the Bulldog 5-yard line to set up a game-tying score for the Mizzou offense ... Posted 10.0 tackles for loss on the season, with 3.0 quarterback sacks, one fumble recovery and one quarterback pressure ... Reached double-digit tackle totals five times, including 12-tackle games versus Purdue, at Georgia and at Vanderbilt ... Ended the season by making a career-high 13 tackles in Mizzou’s bowl game against Texas, including one tackle for loss ... Recorded his first career sack and set a career-high in tackles (12) against Purdue (9/16) … Recorded 10 tackles in Mizzou’s SEC opener against South Carolina (9/9).

2016 SEASON
Played in all 12 games as a true freshman, including a pair of starts, as his competitiveness and toughness impressed the Mizzou coaching staff … Finished the season with 47 tackles (27 solo) and 6.0 tackles for loss, an interception and two pass break-ups … Recorded his first tackle of the season during the home opener win against Eastern Michigan (9/10) ... Posted four tackles with a tackle for loss against Delaware State (9/24) … Posted five tackles with a half tackle for loss at LSU (10/1) … Made his first career start at middle linebacker at Florida (10/15) and tallied a career-high eight tackles (three solo) ... Posted six tackles, including one for a loss, and a pass break-up against Middle Tennessee (10/22) in his second career start ... Posted six tackles against Kentucky (10/29) including a tackle for a loss of one yard … Tabbed a season-high four solo tackles in the same game … Recorded a tackle in the Mayor’s Cup at South Carolina (11/5) … Tallied four tackles (two solo) against Vanderbilt (11/12) … Set a new career-high in tackles-for-loss (2.0) and a season-high in tackles (10) against Arkansas (11/25) … Recorded first career interception in third quarter action with a 4-yard return from the goal line against Arkansas, sparking Mizzou’s comeback from down 17 points at halftime.

BEFORE MIZZOU
A tough, grinder who plays the game with great instincts … A three-star recruit by Rivals and 247Sports and a two-star prospect by Scout.com … No. 13 recruit in the state of Missouri by Rivals … Missouri Class 4A Defensive Player of the Year as a senior after leading Kearney to a 14-1 record and a Class 4A State Championship … Finished his senior season with 160 tackles (21 TFLs), three sacks and one interception … finished his high school career with 538 tackles, six sacks and seven interceptions … A two-way player during his time at Kearney High School under head coach Greg Jones … He ran the ball 36 times for 238 yards and eight touchdowns and also caught 11 passes for 151 yards and another touchdown on offense … Played at the same high school as Mizzou redshirt freshman offensive lineman Tanner Owen along with former Mizzou standouts LB Brock Christopher, WR Tommy Saunders and LS Beau Brinkley … Parents: Craig Garrett and Lindi Burns … Cited the fact that it has always been his dream to play football at Mizzou as one of the primary reason for his commitment while also saying the success for former Kearney products at Mizzou also factored into his decision … Also cited his relationships with Coach Odom andĀ Coach Hill… Enjoys working out and eating good food when away from football … Majoring in Psychology … Primary recruiter: Andy Hill … Chose Mizzou over Navy, Bowling Green, Northern Iowa and Western Illinois.
