2008: Missouri's starting left fielder in all 64 of its games, Julie Silver closed out her sophomore season with a .956 fielding percentage that included 65 putouts and three assists. At the plate, Silver hit behind leadoff batter Rhea Taylor on 57 occasions, averaging .270 on the season. Silver's speed on the bases was evident with her 24 stolen bags, the second highest tally on the team. Taking on Villanova March 9, at the University of South Florida (USF) Under Armour Invitational, Silver stole four bases, a personal best. With a .335 on base percentage, Silver scored 48 runs for the Tigers and recorded 13 games in which she scored two or more runs. Silver had two, three run games, the first against Wichita State on March 12, the second against instate opponent Saint Louis, April 9. In Missouri's May 17 game against Long Beach State at the NCAA Regional in Iowa City, Iowa, Silver scored Missouri's third run of the game helping the Tigers distance themselves from the 49ers. Silver powered a one out double, her eighth of the season, to reach base and scored on teammate Amanda Renth's double to right field. Honors: Jewish Sports Review All-American.

2007: A fixture in Missouri's outfield, Silver finished her inaugural year with the Tigers with a .301 batting average, good enough for fourth highest of her teammates and the highest of the 2007 freshman class. Silver made 52 starts throughout the course of the campaign, and was named to the All-Big 12 Second Team and Big 12 All-Tournament team for her work. Silver notched a .385 batting average in post-season play (Big 12 Tournament and NCAA Regionals), hitting three doubles and one triple while scoring five of Missouri's 19 runs. In Missouri's March 28 game at Louisville, Silver's two-run home run, her second of the season, helped Missouri regain its lead and take the win over the Cardinals. The Tigers took on No. 9 Texas in their next game, and Silver again helped Missouri to a win, crushing a two-run double to left field for Missouri's third and fourth runs of the game. The Tigers took on second-ranked Oklahoma April 15 at home and in her first at bat, Silver hit a two-run home run again giving Missouri the go-ahead run. Strong offensively against the top-ranked Sooners, Silver tripled off of Lauren Eckermann in the top of the sixth inning, scoring Missouri's lone run on teammate Amanda Renth's sacrifice fly to center field. Silver led the Tigers with the longest hitting streak (seven) and sacrifice bunts (five). Honors: All-Big 12 Second Team, Big 12 All-tournament Team

Parkway Central: Setting new career records at Parkway Central High School, Silver broke the previous marks with her .574 batting average, 113 stolen bases and 151 hits. In addition, Silver set new single season marks with a .619 batting average, 49 stolen bases, and 52 hits with the Colts. Coached by Tim Cerutti, Silver played at second base and shortstop and earned all-conference, all-district and all-metro first team honors her sophomore (2004), junior (2005) and senior seasons (2006) receiving all-state first team recognition as a sophomore and senior and all-state second team her junior season. As a junior, Silver earned all-region honors and was named the co-player of the year for her conference. A member of the girls basketball and track and field team in addition to playing softball, Silver received six letters. Silver played three years of club softball with the KB Express coached by Ed Hemmann in Kirkwood, Mo. Strong academically, Silver was named the St. Louis Post Dispatch Scholar Athlete, was a member of the honor roll all four years of high school as well as the Tri-Music, Foreign Language and National Honor Societies.

Personal: The daughter of Craig and Susan Silver, Silver was born Feb. 8, 1988 in Lowell, Mass. Silver is the oldest of three children and has one sister Jessica (18) and a brother, Danny (15). Silver is an engineering major.
