Anthony Hansen joined the Tigers' staff prior to the 2024 season after concluding his collegiate playing career under Mizzou head coach Kerrick Jackson at Memphis the previous spring.
A Columbia native, Hansen returns to mid-Missouri for his initial coaching foray after a standout playing career of his own. As a senior at Memphis, he hit. .290 with a club-best 12 home runs, while fielding at a .996 clip to help the Tigers register their first winning season since 2017.
Prior to his 2023 season in Memphis, Hansen starred for William Jewell College in Liberty, Mo., hitting .300 or better in all four seasons at the NCAA Division II school. In 2022, he was an ABCA All-American, as well as a CoSIDA Academic All-American after hitting 16 homers and setting a program record with 72 runs scored.
The Hickman High product graduated from William Jewell in 2022 with a degree in business administration and non-profit leadership. He is currently working toward a graduate degree in positive coaching and athletic leadership at Mizzou. Hansen is married to his wife, Macyn.
