Diamond Simmons is entering his first year as an assistant in the University of Missouri Athletic Performance department. Before joining the Mizzou staff, Simmons served as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach at Morehead State University. While at Morehead State he worked with football, men’s and women’s basketball, track and field, cross country, men’s golf, and the rifle team. Prior to Morehead State, Simmons served as the Head Strength and Conditioning coach at Florence (AL) High School where he worked with the football program. Additionally, Simmons served as an intern at the University of Georgia for the football strength and conditioning program during the spring of 2017.
Simmons played running back for the University of North Alabama, where he was a 4-year letterman. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Exercise and Physical Education in 2017. Simmons is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) through the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) and is a Level 1 Sports Performance Coach through USA Weightlifting (USAW).
Simmons is from Hanceville, Alabama and currently resides in Columbia.
