Missouri opened up the Big 12 Conference schedule last weekend, going 1-2 at Texas A&M. The Tigers could have easily won two, maybe even three games in the series. Mizzou gave up two runs to the Aggies in the first inning of Friday's game, but settled and allowed just one run the rest of the way. On Saturday, Missouri took a lead into the ninth inning before Texas A&M rallied with a pair of singles and a walk-off double to pick up the come-from-behind victory. The Tigers avoided sweep with a 13-4 win in the series finale on Sunday behind a 4-for-6 day from senior Aaron Senne.

Hello Tiger fans!
It has been a busy couple of weeks for me. Last Friday my day started off going to class at 8:55 a.m., but when I got to the door there was a notice that stated that class was cancelled! I was kind of mad that she didn't send an e-mail out earlier - that way I wouldn't have had to wake up that early. Shoot, the more sleep I can get the better! So I just took care of some school business in the art department since my next class didn't start till 12. I went over to Memorial Union had a little lunch with a couple of friends.
Missouri took a three-game sweep over North Dakota last week, which included a Friday doubleheader. The Tigers improve to 10-6 on the season and are 6-1 at home this year.

Since I'm somewhat of a stat geek, and with a little more than one-third of the regular season now behind us, I thought it'd be fun to take a look at the all-time softball record book for my first blog entry. We've had plenty of players make their move into or up the all-time team rankings, while we also have a handful of players just outside the top 10 in numerous categories who could break through before the year ends. With this first entry, we're just going to dive into the offensive side of the record book. We'll evaluate the pitching and fielding side later this week.
It was a tough weekend for the Missouri baseball team, finishing 0-3 at the Houston College Classic at Minute Maid Park. The Tigers were shutout by Houston on Friday despite putting runners on base in every inning. On Saturday, Mizzou took the No. 7 ranked TCU Horned Frogs to extra innings, before a run in the 10th inning gave TCU a 4-3 victory. Then on Sunday, the Tigers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead against No. 3 Texas, but a six-run fifth inning helped the Longhorns claim an 8-5 win.
So there's just one game remaining in the 2010 Big 12 Conference basketball regular season, and we still don't know where 10 of the 12 men's teams will finish the race. [Kansas has clinched its sixth straight title, and the No. 1 seed that goes along with it; Nebraska has clinched the 12 spot.]
To be honest, I really don't know Cindy Stein. I really don't cover the women's basketball team at Mizzou. I attend a couple of games a year, but that's it.
I know the Tigers' women's basketball team struggled in recent years in the Big 12 standings. And so, after 12 years as the women's head basketball coach at Mizzou, Cindy is deciding to step down from that job at the end of this season.
Each week on this blog, we will select a Player and Pitcher of the Week for Mizzou Baseball. The Tigers are 4-2 on the season after winning 2-of-3 at the Auburn Classic last weekend. Missouri defeated Florida Atlantic, 4-2, on Friday and took down the host school, Auburn, by a score of 11-7 on Saturday before dropping the final game of the weekend to Boston College.
